LESSON PLAN IN HOME ECONOMICS

I.                   OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the students will be able:
1.      To identify and enumerate the different food groups.
2.      To perform different activities relating to the usefulness of the three basic food groups.
3.      To appreciate the value of eating nutritious foods.

II.                CONTENT AND MATERIALS

                        Instructional Materials   : PowerPoint presentation, cut- out

III.             PROCEDURE/ LEARNING ACTIVITY

A.     Routine Activities/ Introductory Activity
1.      Prayer
Students will choose a prayer partner and they will pray together.
2.      Attendance
Students will say their assigned numbers.
3.      Checking of Assignments
The teacher will ask the students if they have listed the food that they have eaten yesterday.

B.     Lesson Proper
1.      Motivation
·        The teacher will show a picture of foods through a PowerPoint presentation.
·        The students will search in the classroom some hidden pictures of food. Then, they will sort out these pictures by pasting them into the basket.
After the activity, the teacher will ask the students why they came up to the idea that they should put that food in the certain basket.



2.      Presentation
·        The teacher will present the three basic food groups. (base on the food groups in each basket)
·        Go Food
-          Give heat and energy, help other nutrients work for the body
·        Glow Food
-          Prevent diseases by building the body’s resistance, regulates body processes
·        Grow Food
-          Promote growth, build muscles, repair the worn – out tissues, give strength
C.     Developmental Activity
1.      Procedure
The teacher will show a picture of an unhealthy and healthy child and the following questions will be asked:
a.       What is the difference between the two children?
b.      What do you think made this child healthy?
c.       Why do you think this child is healthy?

2.      Activity
Group the students into four to be ready with the activities. Each group will be given 10 minutes for brainstorming and 5 minutes for each presentation.
a.       Play let
Show a play let regarding the importance of basic food groups in the family meals.
b.      “Balagtasan”
Which is the most important of the three basic food groups? Have a moderator who will give the conclusion.
c.       Poem
Depicts the result of inadequacy of nutritious food in meals


3.      Analysis
·        Each group will give insights regarding the activity presented. The teacher will emphasize the value of good nutrition in the body.
·        Base on the assignment, the teacher together with the students will evaluate the food they ate if it nutritious and adequate.

4.      Abstraction
·        The teacher will encourage the students to give their ideas by partner (in prayer time) with regards to the quotation, “Good Nutrition Equals Good Health”, as a generalization.

5.      Application
·        Plan and make a 1- meal menu containing the three basic food groups by your partner. The teacher will encourage the students to prepare this food in their household.

IV.              GENERALIZATION
The teacher will facilitate the students in making generalized concepts or ideas regarding the lesson.
·        Therefore, having nutritious and adequate food in a meal is very much important to our body because good nutrition equals good health.

      V. EVALUATION
 Write a 100-word essay regarding the value of eating nutritious and adequate food with the use of the three basic food groups.

      VI. ASSIGNMENT
        Make a collage of Go, Grow, and Glow Foods using food wrappers.

A. Panimulang Gawain
    1. Kasanayan
        Ipaliwanag kung ano ang pangngalan at ang dalawang uri nito.
        Magbigay ng halimbawa sa bawat uri.
    2. Balik- Aral
   Ano ang anunsyo?
   Saan ito matatagpuan?
   Magbigay ng halimbawa.

B. Panlinang na Gawain
   1. Pagganyak
       Magbigay ng nga paraan kung paano natin mapangangalagaan ang
       kapaligiran.                             
       Sumagot sa isang buong pangungusap.
      (ililista ng guro sa pisara ang mga pangungusap)
  2. Paglalahad
      Mayroon ba kayong napapansin sa mga pangungusap?
      Anong meron sa tao na mayroon rin sa mga pangungusap?
      (ipahula sa klase)
        -pareho silang may bahagi.
      Anu-ano ang mga bahagi ng tao na matatagpuan sa ulo?sa kamay?
        - Ngayong hapon, pag-aaralan natin ang mga bahagi ng pangungusap.
  3. Pagtatalakay
     Anu-ano ang mga bahagi ng pangungusap?
     a. Simuno- ito ay ang paksa o ang pinag-uusapan sa pangungusap.
                    May mga panandang si, sina kung tao ang simuno at ang o ang    mga kung bagay, lunan, o pangyayari.
     b. Panaguri- ito ang nagsasabi tungkol sa simuno.
Halimbawa:
Si Ana ay maganda.

Ang mga paru-paro ay may iba’t-ibang kulay.

       Magpabigay ng iba pang mga pangungusap mula sa mga bata. Ipasulat sa pisara at pabilugan ang simuno at salungguhitan ang panaguri.

   4. Paglalahat

       Anu-ano ang mga bahagi ng pangungusap?
        - Simuno at Panaguri

       Ano ang simuno?

       - Ang simuno ay ang paksa o ang pinag-uusapan.

       Ano ang panaguri?

       - Ang panaguri ay ang magsasabi tungkol sa simuno.
  



  5. Paglalapat

      Panuto: Lagyan ng angkop na simuno ang mga patlang para makabuo ng pangungusap.

IV. Pagtataya

Panuto: Bilugan ang simuno at kahunan ang panaguri.

1. Sariwa ang hangin sa probinsya.
2. Tunay ang mga pakikisama ng mga tao sa lalawigan.
3. Malinis at sagana sa talangka, tulya at isda ang mga ilog.
4. Dalisay ang kapaligiran sa lalawigan.
5. Maliwanag ang buwan.






V. Takdang- Aralin

Panuto: Salungguhitan ng isang beses ang simuno, pangalawang beses naman salungguhitan ang panaguri.

1. Nagtatawanan at nag-aawitan kami.
2. Sa manggahan kami nggpipiknik.
3. Nagkukwentuhan kami tungkol sa mga duwende at aswang.
4. Naglalaro kami ng tumbang preso.
